The Road to Mass-Market Autonomy: What Sensors Will We Need, and Why?
In this presentation, Roger Lanctot will look at the likely road to mass-market autonomy and examine the challenges to achieving L4 operation, as well as his assessment of where will see it first in volume. He’ll also share the Strategy Analytics assessment of how the light duty vehicle market in 2030 will split out by level of automation. After this scene has been set, Roger will then look at the what the likely sensor suites that will be required are, both for low-level (ADAS to L2) and high-level (L4+) operation. This will include his opinion on one of the current hot-topic questions: can we do this with cameras alone?

Driving Connectivity for the Autonomous Future
Dynamic, adaptable and ultra-reliable connectivity is mission-critical for tomorrow’s autonomous vehicles. While vehicle data is exploding, not all data should be treated equally. OEMs will need to take control of network and service management to define appropriate configurations and policies for handling each category of data. The convergence of public and private 5G networks plus the use of multi-access technologies will pave the way for a new era of connectivity visibility and control.
